I'm Playin' in the Rain...

Introducing my wonderful, beautiful, sensational, gas-guzzling mode of transportation:

I'm either going to name him Branwell Bronte ("B.B." for short; Branwell Bronte, as in the often forgotten brother of the Bronte sisters) or Alejandro (I heard the song on the radio and I kinda like it).

The only reason my legs are literally sparkling in this picture is because, during this entire "photo shoot" it was raining. That and the fact that I am scarily pale. I need the sun to come back and change that for me.

I wish my bouquet were clearer, but since it isn't, it consisted of honeysuckle, daisies, and more random pink flowers. I like the contrast of the flowers and the girly dress with the jean jacket and the truck; it's girly-girl meets hillbilly girl. But hey--that's me.

copied and pasted style

I love Glamouri's take on polka dots. Some people feel that one must be an AARP member to "carry" this look, but she proves that mixing the patterns up with other dots and solids will do the trick.
love the tan bubble. plus belting makes the world go round.

i heart summer colors.

who i am

I am Marie's granddaughter. Spitting image of my father. And when the day is done my mama's still my biggest fan, sometimes I'm foolish and I'm clumsy, but I've got friends that love me....it's all a part of me....that's who I am.
This is a picture of my aunts and my cousin. I love my the aunt in the middle's Hawaiian shirt and the way the rouching adds flair to the top. I also love my other aunt's simple yet elegant pairing of black and white. These two just happen to be my favorite colors. I guess you could never tell where my cousin goes to college, could you?
This was taken at Fletcher Park and brought with it great fun. I didn't wear any shoes to this family get together, as I wore high heels to church and didn't make a pit stop home before I headed to the reunion. Good old Southern hospitality, my GG let me wear her shoes. Thank goodness we are the same size. God bless America.
Family values mean so much to me. My family loves me and takes care of me. I am so lucky to have people that care.

Go Green!

Although the environmentalists have claimed "Go Green" for their own political agenda, I am re-claiming and recycling it for my own fashion taste. Although my favorite color (on the record) is blue, off the record, it is certainly green. My wardrobe, through spring, summer, fall, and winter, is at least 25% green. From hunter green to lime green, I love it all. It can be dressy, or casual, all depending on how you work it. For instance, my sister has a deep purple dress, and she's planning on acenting it with lime green. It's simply gorgeous. I love statement pieces, and lime green is certainly shocking enough to be a statement in itself. Environmentalists urge everyone to live a green lifestyle; I merely suggest that you live your life in green.

polka dot that wasn't bought

I really loved this dress. It had the best cut I have ever seen and was black and white so fit my taste perfectly. This was another window shopper, which I didn't buy, but hey a girl can dream. The dress cost 120 dollars, by the way. I can't wait to buy things like this one day!!!!!

waiting in line after the concubine

She sat at the station. The woman looked middle aged, bored, and inherently uninteresting. Nothing about her stood out as pretty woman material. Nothing about her told the story of the countless families she tore apart. Yet there she was. And all of these things, the girl thought, were indeed sad. This was the woman that came before your mother, that went to that Alan Jackson concert, that caused countless tears. Life is short, she thought, as she sped away. Let's live it in a different way, a way that doesn't hold grudges, but only takes the paparazzi pictures to help us move forward.

when you buy nothing at all

Don't have any money to buy new clothes? That's okay. Do like A. and I did, and shop till you drop without droppin' a dime. We headed to a local store, that shall remain nameless but rhymes with Mann Baylor, cough, cough, haha. We tried on clothes, picked out the cutest outfits for one another, and created our own catwalk. This photo was A in skyhigh heels, with me in the most fabulous and form fitting shift God ever created. I heart those kinds of days.

Buckling Under the Pressure

Examine carefully your favorite pair of wedges--on each side of what should be an exquisitely adorable shoe, you will see what many will consider a buckle (depending on the style). Though somewhat overlooked, the buckle is essential to your wonderful set of shoes; without it, you would walk around in a continual state of clumsiness, incapable of encasing your feet within the glorious shoe work of art. Thus, the buckle brings a sense of security and joy to your life, enabling you to wear wedges for hours on end.

Okay, okay. The importance of the buckle is not the true reason for our blog name; it emerged from a blend of our two names, as R. explained in the previous post. But, since my shoes for today actually had a buckle, I thought I would take the opportunity to expound upon its wonders. But moving on. As R. explained, I love all things British and literary, lime green (all green, really), and of course, the impeccable Rob Pattinson (which ties in to my love of the British).

My outfit today, however, encompasses nothing British, literary, or Pattinsonian. I dressed for a warm summer day, only to be greeted by cloudy skies and chilly winds (which explains the reason for my indoor photo shoot in my terribly cluttered room). Please note the all-important buckle in the third photo.

Top: American Eagle Outfitters (I also have this in hunter green, which I will model in future post.)
Jeans: Artist style, American Eagle Outfitters
Shoes: Y-Not?
Earrings: Silver loops, Claire's

What the heck is a bunch of buckles, anyways?

In search of fun ways to jazz up our wardrobes and the things we already own, T. and I decided to establish Bunches of Buckles on May 8th, 2010. R. loves all things vintage, Kennedy, and black. T. hearts British lit, lime green, and Rob Pat. (Oh, and in answer of the blog title post, R's surname and T's combine to form a semi-fashion conscious moniker.....)
